Madrid Meeting 2019 will be the opening of the new Vallehermoso Stadium next Sunday 25th and the list of athletes will have a high level. One of that outstanding names is going to be Orlando Ortega. The olympic silver medalist of 110mh in Río de Janeiro 2016 will be part of this event and it becomes one of the incentives for the fans to come and see this championship.

He is the current Spanish record holder for 110mh (13.04) and he is in a grat physical state -last july 5th he run in 13.05 in Lausanne (Switzeland)- and he wants to continue proving it now in the brand new green track of Madrid. The already mentioned silver olympic silver medal, the european bronze medal achieved last summer in Berlin, the 4th place in European Indoor Championships Glasgow 2019 or even the 2016 Diamond League title are some of the reasons that make him a world reference. Orlando is entering the last preparation weeks towards the World Championships of Doha (September 27th-October 6th) and there is no doubt that the Madrid Meeting and running with his crowd will be a good preparation for him towards the objective of baing a world medal candidate.
